ISTQB Advanced Level (Core Modules)

Program Duration: 1 Month (Intensive Track)
Format: Blended (On-Campus & Online) with Recorded Lectures
Includes: Global Certification Prep + Mock Exams + Practical Application Labs

Elevate Your Testing Career to Expert Status

You’ve mastered the fundamentals. Now it’s time to lead. The ISTQB Advanced Level certification is the global benchmark for experienced testing professionals who want to move into senior roles, lead testing teams, and design sophisticated test strategies.

In this intensive one-month program, you will choose one of three specialized paths—Test AnalystTechnical Test Analyst, or Test Manager—and dive deep into advanced techniques, risk-based testing, and strategic quality assurance. This is not just about passing an exam; it’s about transforming how you think about software quality and positioning yourself for leadership roles in Pakistan’s growing IT industry and beyond.

Choose Your Path: Three Advanced Specializations

The ISTQB Advanced Level consists of three core modules. You can take one, two, or all three to earn the prestigious “Full Advanced Level” certification .

SpecializationFocus AreaIdeal ForExam QuestionsDuration
Test Analyst (TA)Business requirements, functional testing, user-centric quality attributesFunctional testers, business analysts, QA analysts60 MCQs 1 Month
Technical Test Analyst (TAE)Code-level testing, non-functional testing, test automationDevelopers, automation engineers, technical testers45 MCQs 1 Month
Test Manager (TM)Test strategy, team leadership, risk management, project governanceTest leads, QA managers, project managers65 MCQs 1 Month

Program Structure: One Month. Deep Mastery.

Each path follows a four-week intensive structure, combining theory, practical exercises, and exam preparation.

Week 1: Foundations & Advanced Context

  • The Advanced Tester’s Mindset: Understanding your role in the software development lifecycle across different SDLC models (Agile, Sequential, Hybrid) .

  • Risk-Based Testing Deep Dive: Move beyond simple risk identification. Learn to facilitate risk assessment sessions, prioritize testing based on business impact, and align test strategy with organizational risk tolerance .

Week 2: Specialized Techniques & Analysis

For Test Analyst Path:

  • Advanced Black-Box Techniques: State transition testing, classification trees, pairwise testing, and use case testing .

  • Quality Characteristics for Business: Testing for functional completeness, correctness, appropriateness, usability, and interoperability .

For Technical Test Analyst Path:

  • Structure-Based Techniques: Condition testing, MC/DC, path testing, and API testing .

  • Non-Functional Testing Deep Dive: Performance testing, security testing, reliability testing, and portability testing .

For Test Manager Path:

  • Strategic Test Planning: Defining project and organizational test strategies, selecting the right approaches for different contexts .

  • Estimation & Metrics: Advanced estimation techniques, defining and tracking meaningful test metrics, and using them for project control .

Week 3: Reviews, Defects & Automation

  • Reviews & Static Analysis: Leading formal reviews, architectural and code reviews, using static analysis for maintainability .

  • Defect Management: Root cause analysis, defect prevention strategies, and implementing effective defect workflows .

  • Test Automation Strategy: For all paths—understanding automation ROI, selecting the right tools, and designing for maintainability .

Week 4: Team Leadership & Exam Readiness

  • Managing the Team (for Managers): Identifying skill requirements, fostering the “whole team approach,” and building a business case for testing .

  • Full-Length Mock Exams: Simulated exams under timed conditions with detailed feedback.

  • Exam Technique & Final Review: Targeted review of challenging topics, question strategy, and confidence-building.

What are the prerequisites for ISTQB Advanced Level?

You must hold a valid ISTQB Foundation Level (CTFL) certificate . Additionally, while not mandatory for the exam, it is strongly recommended that you have practical experience—typically 6 to 18 months in software testing or development—to fully grasp the advanced concepts

Can I complete the Advanced Level in just one month? Is it enough time?

Yes, our intensive format is designed specifically for focused learners. The one-month track requires commitment (approximately 15-20 hours per week of live instruction and self-study). However, this is a proven model—many professionals prefer this accelerated pace to quickly achieve certification and advance their careers. All sessions are recorded for review.

Which path should I choose Test Analyst, Technical Test Analyst, or Test Manager?

Your choice should align with your current role and career goals :

  • Choose Test Analyst if you work closely with business requirements, functional testing, and user experience.

  • Choose Technical Test Analyst if you have a development background and want to specialize in automation, security, or performance testing.

  • Choose Test Manager if you aspire to lead teams, define strategy, and manage testing projects.
Not sure? Our career advisors can help you decide.

What if I want to take more than one module?

Excellent! You can take multiple modules sequentially. If you pass all three (Test Analyst, Technical Test Analyst, and Test Manager), you will be awarded the prestigious ISTQB Full Advanced Level certificate . Please contact our admissions team to discuss a custom learning pathway.

I want to join a workshop but can't attend all live sessions. Are they recorded?

Yes. All live sessions are recorded and made available on our Learning Management System (LMS) for the duration of the workshop, so you can catch up at your own pace.
